  • also known as klepon
  • Originated in Javanese, also popular in Indonesia cuisine
  • contains sweet rice cake balls filled with palm sugar that is melted and coated in coconut shavings
  • made from rice flour and occasionally tapioca and pandan leaves which give it the green colour
  • the palm sugar is solid when placed into the rice dough but melts when the rice ball is boiled
